Like any other business, it started with an idea. In this case the idea was to provide patient dignified, efficient, outpatient healthcare facilities to the national community of the U.S. It was the difference between what had been done and what needed to be done on behalf of the patient.
Since 1994
WTA Architects was launched as a part time effort back in 1994. WTA was founded as a firm, in 1995, that focused on specific design needs in the outpatient healthcare industry. Due to the commission of a design competition for a surgery center in Howland, Ohio. WTA took the adversarial relationship in design of staff efficiency and patient dignity and began a movement to harmonize the two.The business was dedicated to providing facility designs that were efficient, economical, and based on proven “operational” strategies. The intent was to design from the inside out rather than the standard box theory that plagued the healthcare industry for most of the twenty-first century. We began committed to providing exemplary services, and that commitment remains a guiding force of our culture.
A Renewal of Our Services
In 2002, WTA re-focused, re-located, and renewed its attention to providing outstanding service in the ever-changing outpatient healthcare industry. The company embarked on an academic culture that manifested (3) outcomes: a patent pending circulation matrix, eighteen nationally published articles, and a host of national and international speaking engagements. Our team grew to include architects and consultants with proven experience in the healthcare industry. This included the addition of a project architect with 24 years of experience working for GE Medical Services.
Recently
In 2008 our vision and company expanded as we continued to work towards providing an un-matched level of service to our clients. In 2009 our company continues to provide consulting services for the largest renal dialysis company in the U.S. We’ve helped them renew standards across their many facilities and have served as prototype designers for one of their largest renal outpatient surgery facility partner companies.
We’ve been asked to provide consulting services for facilities seeking Medicare certification. Ensuring Medicare certification is one example of the many exemplary services we provide our clients.
Our company has also helped to shape the vision for a 40 acre surgery and wellness center in the Caribbean. Our company was selected by the Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association to represent current design methodologies to the Country of the Czech Republic. Invited by the Czech Republic Cabinet of Health, WTA assisted in evaluating their current healthcare facilities, and their desire to provide their healthcare system with a network of approximately one-hundred outpatient surgery and related diagnostic facilities.
WTA continued its international work with a recently completed health and wellness spa with outpatient surgery center located in the historic Les Cours Mont-Royal building in Montreal, Canada.
