Caribbean Rejuvenation Center

U.S. Caribbean

WTA was engaged to translate the client’s vision of a small healthcare community that included hospitality for a specific clientele while also providing a severely needed healthcare component for the island natives on this secluded side of the island. The entire facility of 150,000 square feet sits on forty acres of foothills adjacent to the coastline. With a private heliport, private drive and clever design, the facility maximized the healing attributes of the ambient climate and foliage. This facility was designed to be a fully functional, stand alone community in an undeveloped area of the island. Food services, condominiums, a high-end hotel with secluded well equipped visitor huts occupy strategic areas of the complex. The overall design captured the “Island” atmosphere with its light structures and carefully chosen material colors. As a completely independent community, this complex required its own sources of power, water and sanitation. Adjacent to a wildlife preserve, the complex was a unique response to a well documented need for multi-specialty healthcare, healing services, diagnostic services, hospitality and small community shopping and living. This project represents a five year endeavor facing many environmental and financial challenges. A completion date is yet to be determined.
