Lewis & Clark Orthopaedic Institute

Lewiston, ID    2003 - 2004

This project began as a single story addition to a thriving orthopaedic practice. WTA was engaged from the very beginning to convince the city to rezone the adjacent property so the physicians group could realize its dream. The final project included a two-story, 16,000 square foot facility with a connector to the practice. The existing building was upgraded through a colonnade that graciously combined the overall design of the project into a congruous looking and functioning institute. The upper level consisted of a surgery center with two operating rooms and one minor procedure room. Special care was taken to include a flexible design that allows the physicians group to convert this facility into a surgical hospital. The lower level included a 3T magnet for diagnostics and a new physical and occupational therapy suite. The existing clinic was renovated along the exterior wall that ran parallel to the new addition.
